The blog Balkanikum has republished the following, first published by Mondo.rs :

Tomorrow, 19 January, in Moscow, the Union of Russian Writers will award its "Imperial Culture" award in the "Slav Fraternity" category to the Serbian writer and journalist Ljiljana Bulatovic for her book "Report to the General".

"This prize is awarded to the author for her courage, commitment and unswerving dedication to the cause of the unity of the Orthodox Slav peoples", declares the press release published at the Union of Russian Writers' website. Bulatovic states that the prize will be shared with historian Jelena Guskova, director of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Centre for Research into Contemporary Crises in the Balkans.

The Union of Russian Writers holds the prize-giving ceremony at its Headquarters every year on the Epiphany before an audience of Russia's most prominent writers and intellectuals, reports the Srna agency.

The subject of "Report to the General" [Raport generalu], the book for which Bulatovic has been awarded the prize, is general Ratko Mladic, currently being sought by the International Tribunal in The Hague. According to the webside of the book's publisher, the Poetry Writers Association, the book consist of an introduction by Momir Bulatovic, "Ode to the honourable Serb general", followed by a miscellany of facts and notes on the life and career of General Ratko Mladic and a selection of statements, speeches and interviews. The authors of these articles and extracts include Generals Pierre Marie Gallois, Slavko Lisica, Manojlo Milanovic, Petar Skrbic, Tripo Vucinic, Radovan Radinovic and other comrades-in-arms of Mladic.

The book concludes with a rollcall of the names of 40 individuals who have spoken out in support of Mladic, including Ramsey Clark, Sergei Baburin, Jelena Jurjevna Guskova, Smilja Avramov, Rade Rajic, Dragomir Pecanac, Nedjo Popara, and various members of Mladic's family, as well as the Lalovics of Kalinovik. The original publication includes Mladic's speech to the Assembly at Sanski Brod and various media interviews. Published in colours, the book includes photographs of Mladic and colleagues.
